Since its inception, PKO Bank Polski has made an active and creative contribution to the development of our customers and the environment in which they operate. For over 100 years of its history, the bank has influenced processes that make a significant impact and shape the reality of Poland. Our role remains the same after the peak of the pandemic and in the midst of the war waged by Russia that is changing the global order and value chains. The Davos Forum is a very special place to talk about this. As the largest bank in Poland, PKO Bank Polski has an important role to play.
O ne of the biggest challenges for humanity these days is how to strike a balance between the investments and costs of increasingly dynamic economic development on the one hand and the interests of societies and our planet on the other. Their condition should not only be a measure of our success but also the goal of our endeavours. All those who influence the economy, including financial institutions such as PKO Bank Polski, have a particular responsibility in this regard. We understand this and are ready to share our invaluable experience, expertise and, above all, resources with all market stakeholders in order to influence the changing reality through planned concerted effort.
We recognise these challenges in our newly adopted strategy for 2023-2025. ESG is a key factor that will shape our business. Globally, we are facing a civilisational shift dictated by a growing awareness of how destructive the unreflective impact of the economy on the environment can be and how it needs to be countered. Leveraging our experience and using tools built on innovative technologies, we care about a better future and we are working to make it a reality.
