Why Poland Needs Its Own Space in Davos

20 stycznia 2025

Over the past three decades, Poland has emerged as one of Europe’s most dynamic economies. This transformation is driven by a unique blend of resilience, innovation and a commitment to partnerships that address global challenges. The Polish Business Hub is an integral part of this narrative – a platform designed to connect global leaders, foster dialogue and showcase Poland’s contributions to shaping the future of global business and policy.

As the world gathers in Davos for the Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum, Poland’s approach to bridging the public and private sectors takes on a new level of prominence.

Poland’s economic journey is one of remarkable evolution. Since 1990, the country’s GDP has increased over twelvefold in nominal terms, rising from approximately USD 65 billion to over USD 800 billion in 2023. This progress reflects not only the strength of Poland’s economy but also the effectiveness of its public institutions and the entrepreneurial spirit of its private sector. A significant milestone in this journey was Poland becoming the first country in the world to issue a Sovereign Green Bond in 2016, demonstrating its forward-thinking approach to sustainable finance. This achievement set a global example of how financial tools can address environmental challenges while promoting economic growth.
